Riya is a Consultant at SEC, specialising in the US market. She finds top-notch research and development talent for innovative start-up biotech companies. Riya's been a part of the SEC team since 2022, when she joined the Early Talent Academy. The program equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in recruitment. She began as an Associate Consultant, and in less than a year she's been promoted to Consultant!

Riya's always been passionate about the life science industry, having completed a Bioscience degree at Coventry University. It's been an exciting journey for her being able to channel that passion into helping biotech companies grow and make a difference in people's lives. She's particularly inspired by Sir Alexander Fleming, the Scottish-born scientist who discovered penicillin. His work has had a profound impact on the world, and it drives her to find the next generation of innovators in the biotech space.

When she's not busy scouting talent, she's an avid reader. Riya loves getting lost in the pages of a great book, and she's always eager to discover new stories and perspectives. That's why she co-founded a book club at work with a colleague. They have a fantastic time swapping books, discussing their favourites, and connecting with fellow bookworms on their Microsoft Teams chat.
