CAPEX Lead - Senior Manager
Role Overview
The CAPEX Lead is responsible for the design, execution, and handover of capital investment projects, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, adherence to schedules, quality, and functionality. As a Senior Manager, the CAPEX Lead will oversee midsize to large-scale projects ranging from 1 - 50 MCHF within shared infrastructure areas. This role requires strong leadership to manage multinational project teams and interact effectively with senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the CAPEX project charter, defining scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Lead the execution of CAPEX projects, ensuring they meet budget, scope, and timeline objectives.
- Define and allocate internal and external project resources, providing daily leadership to project teams.
- Establish and implement effective project control systems to manage risk, cost, and scheduling.
- Conduct regular project reviews (safety, quality, cost & schedule) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ensure the application of state-of-the-art technical solutions, maintaining compliance with internal and external quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Oversee the successful handover of projects, including training and full documentation transfer to operational teams.
- Promote best practices and knowledge-sharing within the engineering community.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Plant Engineering, or related field).
- 5-10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in CAPEX investment projects (infrastructure, energy, wastewater, etc.).
- Proven project management and leadership experience in major international investment projects.
Technical & Project Management Skills:
- Strong project management expertise, including contract management.
- Broad knowledge of project controlling and appraisal.
- Extensive interdisciplinary and HSE knowledge.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure project engineering.
Leadership & Communication:
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing matrix-based cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a complex environment.
- Adaptable to changing priorities, demonstrating problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in German and English (mandatory).
