Job Title: Contract Clinical Operations Lead (COL)
Location: Welwyn (Hybrid)

Summary:
As a Contract Clinical Operations Lead (COL), you will play a critical role in delivering the operational aspects of global clinical trials across all phases. This role sits within Pharma Product Development (PD) Global Clinical Operations and supports our vision to improve patient outcomes while reducing costs. Working cross-functionally with global teams, you'll drive clinical trial execution with a strong focus on quality, compliance, innovation, and patient-centric delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage study operational plans and clinical trial budgets
  • Oversee vendor relationships and performance, ensuring alignment with project goals
  • Provide leadership and influence across global and cross-functional teams
  • Ensure compliance with ICH/GCP and other relevant regulatory standards
  • Support resource planning and site readiness by forecasting and managing clinical supplies
  • Lead country feasibility and site selection activities
  • Act as a key point of contact for external stakeholders, enhancing site engagement
  • Contribute to delivery through Disease Area Communities (CODACs), Portfolio Enabling Communities (COPECs), and geographic teams

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in clinical trial management or a related area
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and regulatory requirements
  • University degree in life sciences or equivalent work experience
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and focused on delivering quality outcomes
  • Growth mindset with a passion for operational excellence

Note:
This is a contract position. Contractors will not be line-managed by our staff but will be assigned a Workday Manager and integrated into delivery teams. Standard onboarding and equipment will be provided. Contractors are responsible for correcting sub-standard work at their own cost and may end the assignment with notice.
