Your role as Data Center Technician

The Data Center Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of a state-of-the-art computing facility. You'll work closely with remote engineering teams to manage, optimise, and troubleshoot the infrastructure used in cutting-edge research.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the build-out, deployment, and maintenance of high-performance computing systems, including supercomputers and large-scale GPU clusters.

  • Implementing and maintaining infrastructure automation code and operational processes.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting systems to ensure uptime, reliability, and performance standards are met.

  • Managing hardware inventory and participating in equipment lifecycle tasks such as racking, cabling, and upgrades.

  • Working independently to resolve technical issues and collaborate effectively with off-site engineering and operations staff.

  • Contributing to documentation and continuous process improvement initiatives within the data center.


Experience and qualifications for the Data Center Technician role

This position is well-suited for individuals who are highly organised, curious, and proactive in solving technical challenges - whether they are early in their career or bringing experience from a similar role.

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • A background in data center operations, systems administration, computer hardware, or high-performance computing (HPC).

  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and basic scripting or programming skills is a plus.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a keen attention to detail.
