Your role as Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

  • Take full ownership of field-based sales and business development for the orthopaedics portfolio within your territory (Munich, Düsseldorf, Berlin or Hamburg).

  • Build, sustain, and deepen strong partnerships with hospital decision makers, clinical leaders, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).

  • Stay on top of market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and shape territory-specific strategies.

  • Develop and oversee a reliable network of distributors and agents to enhance product reach and drive growth.

  • Provide technical product training and support to ensure customers have the competence and confidence to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Promote regular scientific engagement activities with healthcare professionals to build brand trust and reinforce clinical relationships.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to swiftly resolve any customer concerns and deliver seamless service.

  • Be flexible to travel both within and beyond your assigned city to support wider business objectives.


Experience and qualifications for the Area Sales Manager (ASM) / Business Development Manager (BDM) role

  • 3-8 years of current front-line sales management experience in joint replacement or the broader orthopaedics sector.

  • Degree in life sciences, nursing, business management or a related discipline.

  • Proven ability to establish and grow relationships with surgeons, hospital administrators and procurement stakeholders.

  • Skilled in analysing territory data and financial performance to make strategic, growth-focused decisions.

  • Confident managing people and guiding stakeholders with a collaborative approach.

  • Fluent in the local language with business-level English communication skills.

  • Brings a strong ethical mindset and thrives on driving change in a compliant, patient-focused way.
