An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Customs & Trade Regulations Analyst to join a global healthcare organisation on a contract basis, supporting international trade operations across the UK and Ireland. This role plays a key part in ensuring import/export activities remain fully compliant with international customs and government regulations.

Working within a wider EMEA trade compliance function, this position offers significant flexibility and the chance to contribute to the development and implementation of a global trade compliance programme. The contract holder will work cross-functionally and internationally, providing expertise in a highly regulated environment where attention to detail and proactive risk management are critical.

Your role as Customs & Trade Regulations Analyst

  • Oversee customs compliance for UK and Irish import/export activity, ensuring adherence to international trade and government regulations

  • Support operational teams and customs brokers in resolving clearance issues, particularly around post-Brexit processes

  • Identify customs-related risks and implement mitigation plans to reduce duty exposure

  • Sustain local Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certification requirements

  • Manage responses to official government requests and support on customs audits and inspections

  • Standardise and document customs procedures, internal controls, and compliance processes across the region

Experience and qualifications for the Customs & Trade Regulations Analyst role

  • Solid knowledge of customs and trade compliance regulations, including tariff classification, origin, and valuation

  • Experience working on UK and Irish customs processes, including relevant platforms (e.g., CHIEF, TSS, ROS) and authorisations (e.g., EIDR, SDP)

  • Proven background in managing customs brokers and control towers

  • Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems (ideally JD Edwards)

  • Self-sufficient, with the ability to manage a varied workload and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams

  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
