Your role as Senior Director, Facilities and Engineering

• Lead the facilities, engineering, and maintenance functions across a complex biologics site that includes manufacturing plants, laboratories, warehouses, and office space.

• Champion safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility-promoting a strong safety-first culture across teams.

• Direct utility operations and ensure infrastructure supports business continuity and production goals.

• Spearhead capital projects, new installations, and site enhancements, aligning with strategic growth goals.

• Drive energy and water conservation initiatives with a focus on cost savings and sustainability.

• Guide the development and execution of capital and operating budgets, ensuring optimal resource use.

• Foster a high-performance culture by leading, mentoring, and developing a multidisciplinary team.

• Embed Lean and digital practices into engineering and maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

• Act as a strategic partner across the organization, influencing long-term infrastructure and investment planning.

• Operate confidently at all levels-from hands-on technical guidance to board-level strategic input.

Experience and qualifications for the Senior Director, Facilities and Engineering role

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.

• 15+ years of relevant experience in facilities and engineering leadership roles.

• 15+ years leading in complex, matrixed organizations-preferably in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences sector.

• Proven track record of managing large-scale budgets in excess of $100M.

• Demonstrated experience with reliability-based maintenance and digital transformation in engineering.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence across cross-functional teams.

• Comfortable navigating high-compliance environments and managing risk in technical decision-making.

• Exceptional communication skills-able to present, influence, and lead at senior leadership levels.

• A postgraduate degree (MS or MBA) and over 20 years of experience in a regulated biopharma setting is highly desirable.
