Your role as Business Development Manager
As part of the UK commercial team, the Business Development Manager will lead on identifying and converting new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and supporting long-term commercial growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Meeting or exceeding individual revenue and business generation targets.
Proactively sourcing new business through outreach across phone, email, and LinkedIn.
Building a network of prospective clients and nurturing relationships to create long-term commercial value.
Responding to requests for proposals and coordinating proposal development in line with client needs.
Leading meetings with prospective clients to understand their objectives and position relevant solutions.
Supporting the contracting process in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Maintaining oversight of active leads, progress updates, and pipeline management tools.
Collaborating with international commercial teams to share market insight and drive consistency.
Attending relevant events and acting as a professional ambassador for the business.
Supporting handovers to delivery teams and ensuring a positive client experience throughout the lifecycle.
Experience and qualifications for the Business Development Manager role
This role would suit someone commercially minded, proactive, and confident in managing the full sales cycle in a consultative, service-led environment.
Key qualifications and experience include:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a business development, sales, or client-facing role.
Proven success in meeting or exceeding commercial targets.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers.
Confidence in developing new client relationships from scratch and managing long-term accounts.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
